Overview
If you receive SSI, SSDI, or VA benefits, you will be able to use both the Perpay Marketplace and the Perpay Credit Card with your benefit payments.
Important: To use the Perpay Split program, your employer must be recognized as a Split employer, or your Perpay account must be set up to receive benefit payments. Paychecks or benefits cannot be split automatically unless your employer or benefits provider is configured for Split.
Eligibility for SSI, SSDI, and VA Benefits
Perpay accepts SSI, SSDI, and VA benefit payments for:
Perpay Marketplace Orders
The Perpay Credit Card
How Benefit Payment Splitting Works
Step 1: Direct Deposit Setup
To use your benefit payments with Perpay, you will need to update your direct deposit information so that your payments are deposited into your unique Perpay account.
You can do this by logging into your benefits payment portal and updating your current direct deposit details to your Perpay routing number and account number. Once updated, your benefit payments will be sent directly to your Perpay account.
This can usually be done through:
The Social Security Administration (SSA)
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
Your benefits payment portal
Step 2: Your Payment Is Deposited
Once your direct deposit is set up, your full benefit payment will be sent to your unique Perpay account, held with our banking partner JP Morgan Chase, on the payment date listed on your benefits letter.
Step 3: Automatic Payment Split
When your benefit payment is received, Perpay will automatically:
Apply your minimum required payment to your Marketplace order and/or Credit Card balance.
Send the remaining funds to your personal bank account automatically on the same day it is received.
Important Information
Perpay cannot modify, cancel, or redirect benefit payments once they are sent.
Only you can make changes to your direct deposit through your benefits provider.
Your benefits source must be listed correctly on your Perpay account in order for payments to be processed properly.
You must add your primary bank account to your Perpay profile so we know where to send the remaining funds from your benefit payment.
