Why was my transaction declined?
The following are some reasons why you might have a declined transaction on your Perpay Credit Card:
Your credit card account is in a suspended status
You are unable to make new transactions while your credit card is in a suspended status. Below are some reasons why your account might be in a suspended status:
Overlimit
You are not able to spend more than your available credit on your credit card. If your available credit is currently $0.00 or if your transaction would have exceeded your currently available credit, your transaction may be declined.
To reduce your outstanding balance and increase your available credit, we recommend increasing your payroll direct deposit or setting up a one-time bank payment to your credit card!
Missing required direct deposit amount
You must pay your credit card required direct deposit amount from your paycheck each pay day to keep your credit card account active. If we have not received this required direct deposit, your credit card will be placed in a suspended status until the direct deposit is received.
Non-authorized merchant category
Some merchant categories are not authorized for purchase with your Perpay Credit Card. Examples include:
Money transfers
Peer to peer lending (Example: Cashapp, Venmo, Paypal)
Gambling services
Transactions under non-authorized merchants will be declined.
Your credit card has a hold on it
Your transaction might be declined or placed on a temporary hold if we observe suspicious credit card activity. This could include:
High transaction attempt
frequencyHigh transaction amount
High-risk merchants or merchant
categoriesPrevious recent declined
transactions
Incorrect credit card information inputted
If you are making a transaction online, your transaction may be declined if any information like your account number, expiration date, or security code is inputted incorrectly.
