What to do if your payroll payment may not match your Perpay account details

Your payment history with Perpay must be built using payments made by you. No one else is able to make payments on your account. This includes, but is not limited to a parent, a child, a partner, or a friend.

I paid for someone else, or someone made a payment for me, now what?

If a payment is made on your account that is not from your payroll, or if you made a payment for someone else, you will need to reach out to our Customer Success Team to let us know more about your situation. You can do so via chatting us in the Perpay app, or emailing us at

Once our team has verified the situation, we can return the payment to the original payroll provider. This process can take up to 8 to 10 business days, at which point the payment should be returned. After this period has passed, the person who had the payment sent to Perpay will need to follow up with their HR department to get more information about these funds.

What should I do if my name has changed?

Please know that the name on your account should be your full legal name. If your name has changed and no longer matches the name on your account, we will need to update your account to match your current name.

Please reach out to our Customer Success Team, and let us know what you want to update your name to. Please be prepared to send a picture of your most up-to-date photo ID so we can verify your identity. Once this information is received, our team will update your account, and you are all set!

Your name should be updated on your account within 24 business hours of our team processing the request for you.

What If I share a bank account with someone else?

We cannot apply a payment to your account unless the name on your payment matches the name on your Perpay account. If you share a bank account with someone else, whichever name is attached to the paying account will need to make a Perpay account to place Marketplace orders or use our Credit Card product.
